One of the best converting locations for an Adsense block is directly underneath the header. A large square/rectangle format works well here. The downside is that it can discourage readers and push up your bounce rate.

Hi! I was really glad to find this blog. I am passionate about writing, have been blogging for awhile and am getting ready to try it for pay. As much as I have read about blogging for pay lately, I still found some really valuable information here. THANKS! I do have a question, though. I have been seeing some posts lately about Firefox adblocker that some people have started using. Is there any worry that this could soon hurt the ‘blogging for money’ industry?

I have tried some of these techniques on various blogs. I’ve had most success with affiliate programs.

My advice is to write a blog about a very particular niche, then put banners or links on it for an affiliate program that has a high payout per sale.

Of course, fewer will convert, but eventually one will, and you’ll get a nice big payment. That’s good for your confidence!

Programs with much smaller payments take ages before you make the threshold and get paid. That can get very disheartening.

Well the placement of the adsense ads makes a big difference, but another big factor is the type of blog. A blog about how to make money online will not attract adsense clickers as they are more aware of the ads. I find that my product blogs do very well with adsense. I am not getting as much as I want yet, but I am seeing a steady increase in revenue.

I personally have a full time job and so am in no desperate hurry to get money. I therefore agree with what Daniel Scocco says and go along with creating a couple of authority sites (I’m going for two because it make the ups and downs of SERP changes a little more bearable). I think long term this is best, especially if you can afford to reinvest earnings to pay for quality content writers to accelerate the growth of your site.

I have a blog that gets about 300 hits a day. I set Adsense up on it but have only got about $10 so in the past couple of months which is a shame.

Got any tips for putting Adsense on blogs that people click?

Hi, This is my first comment on your site. There is some good information in this post. I have not heard of infolinks before but I will be looking into it from now on. I just have google ads on my site at the moment. Do you think you could use infolinks aswell or is that too many ad links on my page.
