Are you using the power of articles right now to help power your online business?
Article marketing is usually one of the first methods a new affiliate marketer will try. Why? Because it’s free! And that alone is a great reason to use article marketing as a resource to driving traffic to your blog, website or affiliate page.
Yes, it’s free, but it’s not always easy to tackle your marketing strategies with articles. So here are a few tips to help you succeed with articles.
1. Write about your passions.
You will hear this all the time and possibly get sick of hearing it. But more than hearing it, are you applying it? Remember those book reports in high school? You hated them didn’t you? Well, I know I did, and you know why? Because I did not care about the topic I was writing on. But when you really love what you are writing about not only is it easier to write tons of content, but it will be more fun, take less time, and have a greater impact. So this really comes down to picking a niche you really like, but it’s a crucial point I wanted to bring up.
2. Don’t submit to ALL the article websites.
It may be tempting to take that amazing article you just wrote and start submitting it to the thousands of new article websites popping up all the time, but is it really worth your time? I have found that my time is much better spent submitting to only a few GOOD article websites than spending hours and possibly days trying to find yet another website that will take the article. If you only want to work with one article website, work with Ezine Articles. They are a PR7 and are a trusted, reliable company. I get hits like crazy from Ezine. As a matter of fact, my Ezine articles get more traffic than all the other article sites combined. So if I spend all my time focusing on just one for article submission then I can concentrate MORE on good content.
3. Don’t write too much in one day.
I have been there too. You are so excited about getting more and more articles out there promoting your affiliate link that you end up trying to write 10 articles a day, and not only is your brain fried, but your articles are even beginning to SOUND like that high school book report. Remember, to write fresh content you need to stay fresh. Try exercising between article write-ups or just doing something different to give your brain a re-boot. It’s Here at Cash Coach I am always reminding you that it’s QUALITY over quantity any day. Hmmm, maybe I should make that our motto. Any suggestions?
4. Make it sound personal.
People will not read your entire article if it is boring and sounds like a computer just rattling off facts. The human element is what makes your writing come to life, makes it readable, makes it fun to read. Add a personal story, or start off by saying, “So a funny thing happened to me the other day…” Sure, a little overused, but it gets the job done. The point is this. When a reader can relate to what you are saying and relate to YOU as the writer, you have just gained their confidence. And if you have a reader’s confidence your endorsement of a product means a LOT more, which means you are more likely to make the sale. To err may be human, but to be human means a lot more click throughs.
5. Don’t get too caught up in keywording
Sure, sure, we all know how important keywords are. After all, that’s how those smart little search engines find us. But I have seen some ridiculous titles that had to be written JUST for the search engines. You know what happened? I read the first sentence of the article and found that it lacked… hmm what was it? Ah yes, the human element we talked about in point 4. Therefore, it appeared too much like a commercial instead of an honest review and I clicked out. No sale for that author today. Don’t get me wrong. Do keyword research and implement it, but use it wisely.
Remember to use keywords like salt for the article. Just sprinkle a little on and spread it out. The taste is much better that way.
