I received a comment on this topics and thought I would address it.  I may not have been clear in how to promote those affiliate products using Ezinearticles.com, so this post will explain how to do it.

And by the way, this is a way that anyone can start making money online.  You don’t have to have experience with affiliate marketing but just understand a few key concepts.

Why Choose Ezine Articles for affiliate marketing?

Before I give you the steps to take to start making money with articles let me explain a little about Ezinearticles.  I highly recommend this article directory above the others because first of all it ranks much higher in the search engines.  There are literally 1,000s of article directories out there and most of them are complete junk and your article will get NO visibility at all and you would be wasting your time to submit anything to them.  And secondly, Ezine is very reputable.  They do not accept spammy or poorly written articles and they have human reviewers go over each article before it is submitted into the database.

Anyone Can Write and Make Money with Articles:

Now before you get scared and think that you articles could never be good enough, let me say that it is a good thing that they are picky about their articles.  You want this.  This lets you stand out from the crowd and gives the articles that ARE accepted even more credibility in you readers eyes.

Now you don’t have to be an “A” student in grammar and English to have articles accepted.  I mean, they accept MY articles for crying out loud!  You simply don’t want to make egregious in your writing.  Just use a conversation style and you will be fine.  Also, they absolutely detest spam (as most of us do), so you don’t want to write articles that sound like commercials or ads on TV.  Just write about something you have some knowledge about and use the link in the resource box to drive some traffic to your affiliate site.

Now, Ezine does not allow affiliate links… Gasp… oh no!  What do we do now?  Well, it’s ok.  I actually like the fact they don’t allow affiliate links because this keeps some spammers who are ignorant out of the game.

Here are some ways you can get around the “no affiliate links” rule Ezine has laid down:

    • Buy a domain and set up a redirect TO your affiliate link (very easy to do). You can also turn on cloaking so your domain name will appear in the URL of the site it takes them to as well.  This is in my opnion the best option, even if it costs 10 bucks for a domain.
    • You can also set up a Squidoo lens talking about your affiliate product.  Write a review of this item and put several links on your Squidoo page, and just use the Squidoo url in the resource box.
    • Use Blogger to set up a free blogging page but use it to talk about your affiliate product further in depth and put a link from there to that product.
    • Use USfreeads as a review page and point your link to them.
    • Or you can always link to another one of your Ezinearticles that already has a well written resource box and points to one of the above.

There are many more possabilities for monetizing your articles but these are just a few ways.  I like the redirect method the best because it takes fewer clicks for the consumer to get to the page where they will have the option to buy the product.  The fewer the hoops they have to jump through the more sales you will get.

If you choose the right keywords in your article title and in your content you can get a lot of targetted traffic and make a decent income.  You can find blog posts about keyword research by doing a search on my blog.  Right nowm article marketing drives about 20% of the traffic to all of my sites, so even if I was deindexed from Google I would get a decent amount of traffic still.

Feel free to ask any questions or leave any comments on article marketing and bum marketing in the comments below.

  1. Hi, Great site, easy to navigate and reate look.

I’ve just created a single sales page promoting blog video tutorials, i bought the PLR for the pruduct.
This was my first site and i used NVU to build the page.I was so happy to have it on the net but not for too long.I found out that my page was not SE friendly,I have no experience. My question is if I can still promote my page even if it’s not indexed in Seach Engines or is it worth it ?

  2. Hello Abe, glad you are enjoying the site. To answer your question, I would have to know if the website was already indexed before and got deindexed by Google or has it just not been indexed yet? Do you have any kind of link building campaign going?
You can still promote that page if you want but I would only use social networking tools. This way, your links may not help you in the Search Engines but you are not listed there anyway, but you can still get some traffic from Youtube, Squidoo, articles, Facebook, and other avenues.
Once you are indexed and you know Google is crawling your site you can do some more promotional methods to help your site rank in the SEarch Engine pages.

  3. JUst a quick question, if you already have a domain, couldnt you just use cpanel and do a redirect on a subdomain? Also one more question, how is it possible to determine if a site is de-indexed?

Rev Jeff Lewis’s last blog post..Is Google in Trouble & Facing Bankruptcy?

  4. Hey Jeff, Ezine articles will not allow you to use a subdomain redirect.. as far as I know anyway. I wanted to do that same thing to save me the money from having to buy another domain, but they only allow redirects from the root of your domain. To see if a site is de-indexed with Google you can type in “site:yourdomain.com” and if there are no results than you have been booted from Google.

  5. Hi,

I was wondering if you can clear something up for me please regarding promoting Aff products with redirects and article marketing.

Say i was promoting a product on lose weight like “fat loss 4 idiots”

    1. I get a domain name http://www.fatlossforidiots.com and then redirect this to the affiliate landing page.

    2. write an article with the title fatloss for idiots and then use my domain as then anchor text in the article to redirect to landing page.

The query I have is what if I article titled “how to lose weight fast”

I believe Google will look at title and anchor text of the article to see if the keywords are relevant to the search query “how to lose weight fast” to show up in the searches.

So Do i need to buy another domain name http://www.howtoloseweightfast.com or just use the original domain ?

  6. Sure Jay, just use the original domain that has the redirect. You can use the anchor text “how to lose weight fast” for that same website without using those words in the domain.
