Anyone, that’s right, ANYONE can make money on ebay.  And it is easier than ever to do.  Using ebay to make money may seem like a daunting task if you have never tried it before, but here are some methods that people are using to make money on ebay, whether they have a product to sell or not.  So can ebay make you money?  Of course, but let me tell you the “how”.

You don’t have to own a single item or even ship or ever see a product to use ebay to make money.

    1.  Sell Your Stuff on eBay.

    • Find stuff around the house. We all have things sitting around the house that are just collecting dust.  And by getting rid of them we are at least making dusting a little easier.  You may be surprised what you will find by simply doing a little house cleaning.  If you can find anything you can live without, try putting it on ebay and see what happens.  The exposure you get on ebay is MUCH better than at a yard sale.
    • Hit some yard sales and find a treasure to sell.  Sound crazy?  Well there are people who actually make a living off of this, and that’s all they do.  They look for great bargains at a garage sale and put it on ebay, because like I said, you can have thousands and thousands of people watching your auction, as opposed to a few hundred (maybe) that stop by a yard sale.  And when the bidding wars begin, who knows how high it can get.  Besides, some people don’t know how valuable that lamp is they are selling for $5 at a yard sale, and you can flip it for a lot more.

Here is a guide to show you how to find great deals at yard sales to sell on ebay.

    • Write an Ebook.  People love ebooks.  Well, there are some that hate them, but most find them very useful.  There is almost TOO much information on the internet now and it can be difficult to find all the data you need in one place, without having to surf all over the web.  An ebook is a concise and thorough book you can write on any topic people are interested in.  Ebay no longer allows you to simply provide a download for the ebook in the auction.  You have to have a physical product.  But this is great for us becasue it eliminates a lot of the lazy competition.  Simply write an ebook, put it on a CD and sell it on ebay as many times as you can.  Good money to be made here.
    • Create a product.  If you can make something well you can sell it.  Whether it’s pottery, art, a craft of somekind, or even photography.  Being a photographer, I have sold pictures on ebay and it’s very rewarding.  Just make a few enlarged prints of an image you like and put it up for bid.

Here is some learning material to jump start you on HOW to sell on ebay.

    2.  Sell Someone Elses Stuff.

    • Drop Shipping on Ebay.  Here is how this works.  You sign up under a wholesaler who sells a certain product you want to sell.  Then you set up the auction for that product and when the buyer wins the auction you run the sale through the drop shipper and they ship the item out to the winner (hopefully for a profit).  Since they ship directly to the customer, you never even have to ship the product.  The problem is trying to find good wholesalers and companies that sell stuff for a low enough price to make a profit on it.  But this problem has been remedied by the folks at SaleHoo.  SaleHoo provides hundreds of drop shipping companies that sell any product you can think of.  There really is so much that they offer I am not going to get into it now.

But check out SaleHoo here for more info.  For access to the list of over 500 true drop shippers you can check this out.

    • Contact Refurbishing Companies.  Many of these companies refurbish items and sell that at very low discounted prices so contact them and see if you can work something out to sell those products for them on ebay.
    • Sell your friend’s stuff for a fee.  Despite how easy ebay is there are still people that contact me on a regular basis wanting me to sell their stuff for them.  This can be a very easy way to make money because you don’t have to own anything.  Once word gets out that you are the online consignment shop you may have more work than you can handle.  I sell stuff for my friends all the time and usually charge 15% of the total selling price.  I know, I am a nice guy and could charge double that, but I like to keep my friends.  There are a lot of stores I am seeing pop up all over the place who sell your stuff on ebay for you, so we know there is money in this.

    3.  Don’t Sell Anyone’s Stuff and Still Make Money on Ebay.

    • (EPN) Ebay Partner Network.  Last month I have made over $400 with EPN alone.  To put it simply… you get paid for sending people to an ebay auction.  It is a form of affiliate marketing, but the great thing is you just have to focus on driving traffic to ebay and you get commission on anything that person buys for up to a week.  if the cookies lasted longer I would be an even richer man today I am sure.
    • Start a BANS StoreBANS stands for Build a Niche Store.  This is the exact method I used with the ebay partner network.  EPN is free to join but BANS software makes it VERY easy to set up your own website selling any specific product on ebay– be it vacuum cleaners, golf clubs, or Ipods.   You can set up a store with NO website or web design knowledge.  How do I know this?  I set up my store without ever setting up a website before.  The forum provided wonderful support too.  I highly recommend BANS for making a website online about your passion.  This software installs the store on your website and all you have to do is figure out what you want to sell (although you are not really selling anything.  You are just driving people to your store to drive them to ebay to collect your commision).

Check out BANS software and all it can do here.

    • Start a Wordpress Blog.  There are many ways you can actually integrate your BANS store and Wordpress blog to work together.  This is a great option as blogs can generate a good amount of traffic.  You can find themes on the internet or on the BANS forums for this too.
    • Use an Ebay RSS feed everywhere.  Essentially what a BANS store does is pull in RSS feeds from ebay and outs them in a uniform fashion on your website.  But you can do this on your own for free as well.  Just pull the RSS feed from ebay on the search topic of yoru choice, and post that url on your blog, or on your squidoo page, or hubpages, or anywhere else you can think of.  It will update itself since it is RSS and your readers can see what auctions on a specific category are going on.  If they click and buy, you get paid.  I have ebay RSS feeds on all of my squidoo pages because you get MUCH higher commissions that going through Squidoo’s own system.  This why you need to be a member of the EPN (ebay partner network).
